Soldier's Death Sparks Baku Protests (Photo)

Hundreds of people have been demonstrating on Fountains Square in the center of the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, to raise awareness about the deaths of young army conscripts.

Despite the appeals and persuasions of  the authorities, hundreds of young people gathered at the Fountain Square in Baku to protest against the death of a soldier.

The reason for the rally was the death  of  a soldier Ceyhun Gubadov on January 7 Dashkesan region.

Despite the approval of the Ministry of Defense that the soldier died from heart failure, the family presented evidence that  Ceyhun was killed.

"No murders in peacetime," "Stop lying!"  were chanting protesters who  were surrounded  by  police  trying to evict them from the area.

Youth young activists sent appeals to 100,000 addresses inviting to participate in the protest rally;  16,000 people supported the call to hold a rally at 16:00 am at the  Fountain Square..
