At least 15,000 people gathered in the village of Nardaran (30 km from Baku) to participate in the funeral ceremony on the occasion of Ashura in the local mosque.

A protest by believers opposite the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan turned into a clash with police forces today. The protest was held to demand the abolition of the ban on wearing headscarves (hijab) in schools.

About 200 people took part in today's protest against the film "Innocence of Muslims" in the village of Nardaran near Baku. The participants condemned the creation of the film, and its position in social networks.

Rafiq Tağıdan bir işarə

Yadımdadır mən uşaqlıqda xəstə olanda bizə həkim gələrdi. Biləndə ki, həkim mənə iynə vuracaq dəli olurdum. Hətta bir dəfə həkim mənə iynə vuranda dözməyib həkimə "qəhbə balası" demişdim. Anlamırdım ki, həkim mənim sağlamlığım üçün çalışır. Nə isə, hər halda uşaq idim. Zaman keçdikcə həkin nə qədər dəyərli insan olduğunu anladım.

Rafiq Tagi: Revenge and Defamation

On November 19 evening, on the way home,  a known publicist Rafiq Tagi was attacked by unknown individuals, who stabbed him eight wounds. Tagi was taken to hospital and underwent surgery. His health remains serious.

Islamic factor no longer scarecrow

During the Arab revolutions the world has suddenly discovered that the US is no longer scared by the “Islamic scarecrow”. Moreover, it has found out the US no longer believes dangers coming from the Muslim Brotherhood and other organizations like this, realizing that these organizations are influential and popular and can manage their societies and guarantee their stability. However it should have been expected, because the US changes the vector of its Middle East Policy. Obama called on to reset the US relations with the Muslims during his visit to Turkey in April 2009.
