Lotfi Zadeh is buried in Baku

Farewell ceremony and funeral with well-known mathematician Lutfi Zadeh took place in Baku on Friday. Head of State Ilham Aliyev attended the farewell ceremony. Professor of the University of California, USA, the author of the theory of odd logic, Lutfi Zadeh (Lyutvali Aleskerzadeh) was born in Azerbaijan and in his childhood moved with his parents to Iran, and from there to the United States. In 1944, he entered the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and soon became a doctor of Columbia University. In subsequent years he worked at the University of Berkeley, where he developed his theory of fuzzy sets, and fuzzy logic, which brought him world fame. Lutfi Zade died on September 6, 2017 at the age of 96 years.
